Fynn will join in every now and then. So some of you may remember, I rescued Mia a little over 5 years ago after hurricane Irma. It’s a long story but she was abandoned and had been neglected so badly that her ears were full of scar tissue. She has terrible allergies that were causing constant ear infections and they just let them fester, as a result both of her ear canals were almost CLOSED off from scar tissue and inflammation. She’s now on a hypoallergenic diet and gets monthly allergy shots, it helps so much. But her left ear was constantly getting infected and after trying everything, the vet recommended an ear canal ablation. Basically they take out the ear canal and sew it shut. She had the surgery but had some nerve damage as a result, it’s common and most dogs fully recover but she didn’t. So her face is a little bit like if someone had a stroke, one side just doesn’t work as well. And one eye blinks funny. She doesn’t know it though and I still think she’s the most beautiful girl in the world ❤️But she’s so much more comfortable without those constant infections! Her right ear isn’t the best but when it does get infected, it can be treated. She can still hear but her hearing wasn’t great to begin with because of how damaged her ears were. Anyway. I didn’t mean for this post to turn into a big story but yeah, she’s my Mia Mush and I’m so grateful I was able to save her. She’s literally love in physical form 😍
